October 31st review Nivea for men scrub
All the rage these days is about exfoliating and getting rid of dead skin. Now although I still think the steaming/baking soda combination is the absolute best, I decided to investigate to see if there could be something else that I could use on a more daily basis to fight acne.
So I did my research, and I found that the most recommended product, according to acne sufferers, was Nivea for men facial scrub.
Now I was really skeptical at first because I've tried many scrubs in the past that have worsen my skin considerably. Of those, we have the 'orange bottled' peach scrub that everyone talks about and many other scrubs that are designed for acne sufferers. In fact, it seems that the more they geared the product towards acne sufferers, the more it gave me acne. Anyhow, getting back on track here... I decided to use the Nivea scrub for men for a week to see how my skin would respond.
To my surprise, after the first use, my skin felt nice and clean. Just like it's supposed to be.
So what kind of effect did it have on my skin?
Well for starters, it really does seem to clean out dead skin and my skin seemed to 'breathe' more. I was careful to scrub GENTLY because doing it too harsly would of irritated my skin. Anyhow, the first time i used the scrub, I was impressed but I figured only time would tell if it was a good product or not
2-3 days after the scrub..
Surprise, surprise! My skin actually looked GOOD and was completely clear. Even though I had abusing my health a bit more than I ought to, my skin stayed radiant, more than it usually would of if I hadn't used the scrub. So I was quite impressed to say the least. I think this is the first and only commercial product I would actually recommend to acne sufferers.. and ironically, it's not geared towards acne, it's geared towards men whom have tougher skin.

Should you buy Nivea for men?
I really don't think it's necessary to buy this product in order to cure your acne. In fact, I was acne free before using this product and although I'm still quite prone to blemishes if I abuse my health weeks at a time, I wouldnt immediately go out and say: "buy this, it will help!". In fact, since I don't have pimples now, it's hard to see what kind of effect the scrub would have if it was used on pimples. It might irritate them.
What I can say however, is that on my skin, it does help me stay clear and maintain an acne free face. I will surely purchase this product again from them and implement it in my routine
Baking soda vs the Nivea for men scrub
Ultimately, they both have their purpose. I think that using Nivea for men in the shower is probably the ideal place condition to use it in, since you wouldnt be able to use baking soda there.
However, using Nivea for men after steaming for 10 minutes (as described in the facial steaming section), would definately be too harsh on the skin.
I still believe that baking soda is the ideal scrub to complete the steam with and I will continue to use it everytime I do a steam (which is actually once a month now, just for maintenance)
