Proper skin care for acne prone skin

Skin care is one of the most controversial topics, sharing extreme point of views ranging from using only commercial products to only water. In fact, good skin care can be the difference between clear skin and acne. Unfortunately, pimples are hard to control. Only using attacking them from a skin care point of view will prove, as we will see, to be very difficult.

Still, skin care remains as the most sought out topic when dealing with acne. Because acne provides a symptom on the skin it is believed that through proper skin care, we can eliminate acne. This is only partially true because acne is the result of many variables and will express itself in people who have beautiful skin care habits.

For pimples to form, we need to have a few elements such as clogged pores, bacteria and a normal immune system response. Most of the skin care products for acne are designed to eliminate one or more of these factors which cause zits.

Categories of skin care

These can be divided into 3 primary categories: scrubs & exfoliants, creams and soaps.

The scrubs and exfoliants are designed to prevent acne by reducing the amount of clogged pores. As we will see, this is one of the most effective ways of reducing acne breakouts. They try to reduce the clogged pores by scrubbing away the dead skin cells and sometimes they add certain ingredients to break up the skin cells. The issue primary issue with this is that scrubs often irritate the skin more than anything.

There are many creams designed for acne prone skin and these creams are designed to eliminate the p. acne vulgaris bacteria. In theory, if there was no bacteria on your skin, you would be unable to produce acne. However, bacteria is everywhere and as soon as the effect of the cream wears off, the bacteria returns immediately. Companies have therefore devised new creams that have longer lasting effects.

Dermatologist recommended soaps?

Finally, we have acne oriented soaps which combine anti-bacterial and exfoliants together. Unfortunately, neither of these is very effective and most soaps end up drying up the skin, producing more dead skin cells and clogging up the pores more than before.

Finally, there are natural skin care solutions which are completely natural and very inexpensive that you can make yourself at home.
